Wrestling is a tough sport and it challenges those who participate to believe in themselves, to become disciplined and to approach difficult situations with a “quiet confidence.” In short, it teaches kids about life. Our youth program focuses on several goals:
• Introduce kids to the sport of wrestling and provide them with fun activities appropriate to their age and development which promotes strength, flexibility, conditioning, and coordination.
• Teach wrestling fundamentals which stand the test of time.
• Drill perfect technique relentlessly! Practice makes permanent!
• Compete in tournaments which are age and experience-appropriate.
The traditional wrestling season runs during the fall/winter months. Several opportunities exist for kids to compete in beginner and experienced level tournaments. In order to compete in tournaments our club became a member of USA Wrestling, the sanctioning body for youth wrestling. Although wrestling is a safe sport, our membership requires us to maintain insurance coverage. View our policy here. Our coaches are all experienced wrestlers and are certified by USA Wrestling at the Bronze Level. Coaches also have current background checks on file at USA Wrestling.
